Yes, If the pot is coated with food-safe glaze and fired then it’s generally safe to eat and can be used for regular usage. The majority of ceramics glazed can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but hand washing is advised in order to protect hand-crafted pottery.
Each piece of pottery is carefully trimmed by our experts on the day they were made and left to dry over a period of about 10 days to 15 days, to limit the possibility of cracking.
After drying, the pieces go through the bisque firing process for 7 hours at 950 degC. This is followed by an extended cooling time of 24 hours. Following cooling, every piece is cleaned, sanded and then ready to be glazed.
The pieces that are glazed are firing for 12 hours, at 1250°C until they are finished. After a further 24 hours of cooling time, the pot is ready for collecting.
Select casual clothing and tie back long hair.
Hand building
The clay is formed by hand using techniques such as coiling, pinching, or slab building. Clay is much more flexible and does not require the use of a wheel.
Wheel throwing
The clay is made into shapes using a spinning wheel in order to form symmetrical designs such as mugs, bowls and vases. This requires more coordination.
